Three attempted murder cases in less than 8 hours

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating three attempted murder cases reported in and around Bulawayo on September 16 and 17, the incidents, occurring in three different locations within a span of less than 8 hours, involved the use of dangerous and illegal weapons.
In one of the three cases, two adult females were assaulted by four men, one woman managed to escape and seek help, while the other was stoned, sustaining injuries, including a bruised body, bleeding eyes, and a swollen face.
A crime of passion unfolded in eMakhandeni, where a man stabbed another three times with an okapi due to suspicions of being involved with his girlfriend, the victim was rushed to Mpilo hospital and remains in critical condition; this case led to one arrest.
In a shocking betrayal, a 46-year-old man from Burnside was lured to a local sports bar by a friend and an accomplice, where they attacked him with an okapi, causing severe head injuries and bruises; the victim sought help and opened a police case.
ZRP spokesperson Abednico Ncube confirmed the incidents and urged the public to desist from carrying and using harmful weapons. “Carrying dangerous weapons is prohibited. People should desist from violence and seek help from third parties in cases of differences.”
The police are seeking assistance in apprehending the suspects still at large.
