Chameja Primary School in Lubimbi recently held its annual Speech and Prize Giving Day, drawing parents, educators, and community leaders together to celebrate academic excellence and address the critical role of discipline in children’s education.

The event featured powerful speeches from local leaders, including Member of Parliament for Lupane West, Honorable Mxolisi Charles Sibanda, who called on parents to actively engage in their children’s academic and moral development.

“It is vital for parents to foster discipline and closely monitor the progress of their children all the time,” said Hon Sibanda, urging families to build stronger partnerships with teachers to support holistic child development.

“Parents should maintain a good rapport with teachers to ensure collaboration for the growth of our children,” he added.

Chief Kavule, a revered figure in the community, echoed these sentiments, passionately advocating for education as the cornerstone of development.

“I do not want to see a child not going to school in my area. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that our children are learning and growing,” he said.

He further implored parents to prioritize school fees, stressing that investing in education is a pathway to a brighter future.

Adding her voice to the call for action, Chameja Primary School’s head teacher, Mrs. Nyasha Moyo reminded learners of the importance of taking their studies seriously.

“Without education, one cannot go anywhere in life,” she remarked, inspiring the audience to reaffirm their commitment to academic excellence.

The day was not just about speeches. Students showcased their talents through captivating performances, offering a glimpse of their creativity and dedication. These moments served as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when communities rally behind education.

As the event concluded, Hon Sibanda delivered a heartfelt plea for unity and collective effort in ensuring children thrive.

“Together, we can build a brighter future for our children. Let us invest in their education and instill the values of discipline and hard work,” he said.

The gathering left attendees inspired and motivated to take action, with leaders and parents pledging to strengthen their support for the educational journeys of their children. The success of the event highlighted the importance of a united community working toward a common goal, ensuring that every child at Chameja Primary School is given the tools to succeed.
