DETE – The Sir Roy Welensky Primary School in Dete is set to host the Zambezi Valley Zone Youth Federation (ZVZ) Bible Quiz and Olympics from June 6th to 8th, bringing together young Seventh Day Adventists from nine districts across the region. This event promises a weekend of spiritual growth, bible knowledge testing, and recreational activities.

The Zambezi Valley Zone includes Binga North, Binga South, Hwange, Jambezi, Dete-Kamative, Lupane East, Lupane West, Mzola, and Victoria Falls districts. Youth from these areas will gather to deepen their Bible understanding and engage in friendly athletic competitions.

According to Zambezi Valley Zone Youth Federation President Delight Ncube, the primary focus of the event is spiritual enrichment over competition. “This is the time for the Adventist youth to explore the Bible and also be on recreation,” Ncube stated. “The event is more of spiritual development of the young people and not much of competition.”

Ncube also noted the event serves as a stepping stone for those with exceptional Bible knowledge. “From Zonal level, the winners will proceed to Conference Level,” he explained, highlighting the opportunity for participants to advance and represent the ZVZ at a higher level.

Mzola District President Isolomzi Moyo echoed Ncube’s sentiments, underdcoring the importance of the event for the youth in the region. Moyo’s statement reinforced the unified vision of the ZVZ leadership regarding the purpose and value of the Bible Quiz and Olympics.

The upcoming event in Dete promises to be a significant gathering for the Seventh Day Adventist youth in the Zambezi Valley Zone, fostering spiritual growth, promoting fellowship, and providing a platform for recreational activities. The winners from the zone will proceed to represent it at a conference level.
