Two suspects, Jethro Dube (40) of Cowdry Park and Itai Gwasura (36) of Pumula East, Bulawayo, have been arrested in connection with a stock theft case.

On October 19, 2024, police officers were having lunch at a local butchery in Pumula East when they noticed a suspicious white Honda Fit. The vehicle had three occupants who unloaded a cattle carcass from the boot.

“We became suspicious and approached the driver, requesting him to produce a permit,” said a police officer. “Unfortunately, they couldn’t provide one, leading to their arrest.”

Further investigation led police to Gwasura’s residence, where additional evidence was recovered.

“Gwasura revealed that Jaison Ndlovu and Jethro Dube brought the carcass from Nyamandlovu’s grazing area,” said Inspector Abednico Ncube, Provincial Police Spokesperson for Bulawayo.

The police urge butchery owners to adhere to regulations and purchase inspected carcasses from registered abattoirs.

“We appeal to anyone with information leading to Ndlovu’s arrest to contact ZRP Pumula on 0292-422907 or any nearest police station,” Ncube added.
