Lupane West MP, Honorable Mxolisi Charles Sibanda, has brought hope to a Shabula Village widow, Mrs Violet Ngwenya, who lost everything when a fire destroyed her two-bedroom huts last month.

The blaze left her family without food, clothing, or shelter, plunging them into a desperate situation.

Honorable Sibanda donated goods worth $200 to help the family rebuild their lives. The donation, which included foodstuff, blankets, and kitchenware, was received on behalf of Mrs. Ngwenya by her relative, Olipah Sibanda, as Mrs Ngwenya could not attend.

“We are thankful to Honourable Sibanda for his kindness. The fire left us with nothing, and we were struggling to make ends meet. This donation will go a long way in helping us get back on our feet,” Sibanda expressed.

The tragedy caught the attention of local leaders, including Village Secretary Lydia Nkomo, who commended Honourable Sibanda for his swift intervention.

“We appreciate Honourable Sibanda’s response to the plight of Mrs. Ngwenya and her family. His donation brings much-needed relief during this difficult time,” she said.

Honourable Sibanda underscored the importance of solidarity in times of crisis.

“As a leader, it is my duty to assist those in need. I urge everyone to extend a helping hand to families affected by such disasters. Together, we can build a resilient and caring community,” he said.

He also encouraged the family to make the most of the donated items and assured them of continued support as they recover.

The Ngwenya family expressed heartfelt gratitude for the MP’s generosity and the community’s support.

“We will never forget this act of kindness. It’s a reminder that we are not alone and that there are people who genuinely care about our well-being,” she said.

The donation not only provided immediate relief but also served as a powerful example of leadership and community spirit in action, offering hope to a family striving to rebuild from loss.
