A 21-year-old man from Edwaleni Village, Nyamandlovu, has been convicted of bestiality by the Tredgold Magistrates Court after engaging in a sexual act with a goat in Insiza District
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the incident took place on 23 September 2025 at around 1pm in Bundubala Village, Insiza.
“The offender, Brian Sibanda, was seen chasing goats in Bundubala Village, Insiza. He allegedly caught a she-goat, wore a condom and had sexual intercourse with the animal. The offender went away, leaving a used condom at the scene,” read the NPAZ statement.
The matter was reported to the police, leading to Sibanda’s arrest. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to four months imprisonment, wholly suspended on condition that he does not commit a similar offense within the next five years.
The NPAZ emphasized that such conduct will not be tolerated. “ Such unlawful conduct is not only immoral but also criminal. Offenders will be prosecuted, and the law will take its course,” the authority said.
