Hon. Musa Ncube takes leadership to the fields in Tsholotsho

TSHOLOTSHO – Deputy Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities and Tsholotsho South MP, Hon. Musa Ncube, has drawn praise across the district after spending a day working in the fields alongside villagers in her constituency.

Clad in work clothes, Hon. Ncube joined a local weeding exercise, setting aside official comforts to engage directly with the people she represents. Residents described the gesture as genuine and timely, particularly during a season when agricultural productivity is critical.

The move aligns with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s call for leaders to remain connected to the grassroots and to lead by example. His message that development begins with production, especially in agriculture, was visibly reflected in the Deputy Minister’s actions.

Agriculture continues to be central to the government’s development agenda under the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2). As Zimbabwe pursues Vision 2030, ensuring food security at household level remains a key priority.

“One cannot talk about development when people are hungry,” said a villager at the fields. “Her working with us shows she understands our daily reality.”

Hon. Ncube’s field visit also mirrors her broader development work in Tsholotsho South, where efforts have focused on improving access to water, social amenities and basic services in underserved areas.

As the day ended, Hon. Ncube departed not as a visiting official, but as a community leader who had shared in the labour. For many in Tsholotsho, the moment reaffirmed that effective leadership is built on presence, humility and shared effort.
