Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Incident in Bulawayo

A 24-year-old Bulawayo man, Talent Msipha, tragically lost his life in the early hours of Monday, 12 August 2025, in a suspected hit-and-run incident   along Luveve Road opposite Rio Turn Bus stop in Matshobana

According to a statement by the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the accident occurred at around 5am.  Msipha, a resident of Mpopoma, was reportedly crossing Luveve Road due south when a white Nissan Caravan traveling due east hit him. The driver fled the scene without stopping.

“The now deceased was dragged for about 50 metres from the point of impact and sustained multiple body fractures and died on the spot. His body was ferried to Mortuary, awaiting post-mortem.” said  Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele.

Police are still searching for the unidentified motorist and have appealed to the public for information.

“We warn all drivers who are not stopping after being involved in an accident that the long arm of the law will catch up with them. We also appeal to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the accused to report to any police station, ” she added.
