The Bulawayo City Council (BCC) says it is deeply saddened by the passing of Heads and Hooves owner Christopher Androliakos, whom they described as an illustrious member of society with an unwavering commitment and passion for the development of the city and the country as a whole.

In a statement, the city Mayor, Senator David Coltart, expressed, “The people of Bulawayo express their deepest sorrow and condolences at the loss of a leader, a businessman, and a public figure who was always available to serve diligently and faithfully.” Senator Coltart also emphasized that Androliakos’s hard work and determination towards the revival of the city will be greatly missed. Androliakos tragically took his own life by hanging at his home in Famona.

According to the Bulawayo Provincial Police Spokesperson, “the 58-year-old came back home, parked his vehicle, and was alone as his wife had traveled to Harare, and the maid, a 59-year-old female adult, had finished her shift and retired to her living quarters.” The maid went about her duties on June 13, 2024, and upon realizing that the main house’s doors were still locked, she investigated further. She discovered Androliakos’s body hanging from the ceiling loft by a nylon rope. The police were alerted immediately.

In light of this tragic event, the police are encouraging members of the public to seek help and support when feeling distressed.
