Alloe the Rapper: From Njelele roots to Afro-Pop resilience

In the dusty heartlands of Njelele, a small village tucked within Matopo, Zimbabwe, a quiet revolution was born. His name is Allois Ncube, but on stage and in studio, the world knows him as Alloe the Rapper — a voice that bridges the rural soul of Matabeleland with the rhythm of modern African music.
Now 27, Alloe is not just a rising Afro-pop star. He is a storyteller, a cultural archivist, and a symbol of what it means to rise above the limitations of your environment.
“I was raised where talent wasn’t seen as a future but I saw one anyway,” Alloe says.
He began his journey in 2018 as a member of the Bulawayo Voices of Victory Choir, where he honed his vocals and stage presence. But it was in 2020 that he truly stepped into his own spotlight with the debut single “Ngeke Balunge.” That spark ignited a flame.
A string of culturally rich singles followed in 2021: Inkoni Yothando, Usuku Lwenjabulo, and Amasiko. Each track offered a piece of Alloe’s personal and artistic identity — where tradition meets ambition, and where resilience finds rhythm.
In September 2023, Alloe released his debut album, a carefully crafted 8-track project that earned him three award nominations and two wins in 2024. His sound — grounded in African storytelling, blended with contemporary beats — became his signature.
Fast forward to April 2025, his single “Inkonkoni Yajama” expanded his fanbase even further. And now, anticipation is building for his boldest work yet: the October 31 release of “Intondolo Emnyama”, featuring the powerful voices of Cula Nyoni and Mthunzi da Poet.
“The song was inspired by the love of our cultural and traditional roots, while also reflecting the idea of greatness,” says Alloe. “It’s about pushing through obstacles, embracing creativity, and celebrating capabilities.”
The title itself — Intondolo Emnyama — is a cultural expression of strength, pride, and leadership. Echoing the energy of the acronym G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time), the track is both an homage to heritage and a declaration of excellence.
With an upcoming album titled Incwadi Yothando in the works, Alloe the Rapper is not just releasing music, he’s shaping a movement.
From choir boy to cultural voice. From Njelele to nationwide recognition. From obscurity to anthem. This is Alloe the Rapper!
